JVC GY-HM850 - Shoulder camera (without optics)

The JVC GY-HM850 and GY-HM890 shoulder-mount camcorders feature a Fujinon 20x autofocus interchangeable lens. Both products feature a built-in streamer and can connect via FTP or 3G/4G for live transmissions directly from the cameras. The camcorders' internal processor uses various algorithms to optimize the transmitted signal bandwidth, provide real-time feedback of streaming data and compensate for up to 30% signal loss.

Versatile ENG/Studio, Pool Feed applications
With these two new cameras, you'll have a highly flexible tool that will help you to respond quickly and safely to the demanding new challenges of the news and reporting market. Our new camcorders feature perfect Pro HD quality, maximum versatility with a focus on intuitiveness, and advanced functionality. The GY-HM890 is modular in design and, when mounted in a cradle, becomes a Studio camera with all the features inherent to this use. Thanks to its Video input, any external signal (from other cameras, or from a OB truck) can be recorded, or streamed (ideal for Live Streaming).

Multi-codec, Proxy, 50 Mbits/s, Non-proprietary media
Among the many technological innovations, simultaneous multi-codec recording enables images to be captured in different formats and resolutions. It is possible, for example, to simultaneously create a high-quality HD recording and another file that is lighter in bit-weight, in a format suitable for web applications or proxy purposes. Live streaming functionality is also one of the advantages of our new camcorders. Another noteworthy feature is 1080p recording at 50 Mbps with a particularly high-performance H264 codec, enabling the recording of very high quality files, far superior to other established MPEG video compression formats. Instead of proprietary media, these camcorders use SDHC or SDXC media readily available on the market. The cameras are also equipped with 1080p 3G HD-SDI outputs.

Streaming
For live streaming over 3G/4G networks or satellite data links, you can choose from a wide range of image resolutions and data rates from 0.3 Mbps to 8 Mbps. The following streaming protocols are supported: UDP / TCP / RTP / RTSP / Zixi. In critical transmission conditions, the high-performance Zixi error correction protocol enables live transmission of a stream, where conventional systems are no longer able to detect a signal.

Interchangeable lenses
Fujinon has specifically developed a new 20x interchangeable lens for the GY- HM8xx series. Remarkable in its design, it incorporates optical image stabilization, autofocus and chromatic aberration compensation features, making an important contribution to the image quality requirements of professionals. This new lens covers a focal length range from 29mm to 580mm (35mm equivalent). The 72mm filter diameter makes it compatible with many existing filters and conversion adapters. The high-speed servo zoom and focus can be controlled by an optional remote control. For customers wishing to continue using other 1/3", 1/2" or 2/3" lenses, JVC offers two other lensless camcorder versions.
