7-14mm ultra-wide-angle zoom lens (35mm equiv.: 14-28), for Micro 4/3 cameras
Despite its impressive 7-14mm wide-angle zoom (35mm camera equivalent; 14-28mm), this lens is surprisingly compact and lightweight, practical for occasional use. And with a very wide 114-degree angle of view, it makes it easy to frame subjects, even when distance is limited. The world seems extraordinary when you look through this new lens, allowing you to record photos and movies * from a singularly rich perspective. * For DMC-GH1 only.
This high-performance lens is so compact that it combines 16 lenses in 12 groups, including 2 aspherical lenses and 4 ED lenses. Image resolution is high from edge to edge, even at wide angle. Thanks to elements molded in solid glass, it also boasts F4.0 brightness across the entire zoom range.
When mounted on the Lumix G Micro System digital camera, this lens enables the use of the advanced AF contrast system, which includes AF tracking and a face recognition function*, for greater convenience and shooting pleasure. * For DMC-GH1 only.
When shooting with a wider aperture, 7 circular aperture diaphragm blades give a rounded aperture, reproducing a good off-camera effect. It also features a highly reliable metal frame, and multi-coated lenses reduce ghosting and flare, further enhancing its optical performance. A suitable lens hood can also be used, even in bright sunshine.
The Micro Four Thirds system has made it possible to achieve a compact size and light weight. Despite its compact size and superb optical performance, this lens brings out the full potential of the micro 4/3 sensor. It combines perfectly with the camera, enabling a variety of unique functions such as the contrast AF function of the DMC-GH1 and DMC-G1.
