Introducing the Sigma 70mm F2.8 DG Macro Art L-Mount
The Sigma 70mm F2.8 DG Macro Art L-Mount is a Macro lens for Lumix S full-frame hybrids, optimized for outstanding image clarity at close working distances. As a member of the Art range, this first short telephoto lens is also distinguished by its sophisticated optical design. Indeed, it incorporates two FLD elements, two SLD elements, a high refractive index/abnormal partial dispersion element and two aspherical elements. As a result, chromatic and spherical aberrations are limited, and you get greater clarity, sharpness and color accuracy. A super multi-layer coating also enhances image quality by suppressing reflections and ghosting, improving contrast and color fidelity in bright lighting conditions. In addition, a rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

The Art line's first macro lens
Standard focal length macro lenses that have appeared in recent years have tended to rely on an internal focusing system to maximize autofocus speed. In contrast, the new SIGMA 70mm F2.8 DG MACRO is designed to prioritize optical performance, meeting the image quality requirements that define the Art line.
In the standard to medium telephoto focal length range, this lens delivers superb resolution and incredible clarity that far exceeds expectations for a macro lens. The high-frequency motor further enhances image quality, while an optimized algorithm ensures extremely smooth focusing for a high-performance lens of this type. Photography enthusiasts will remember this legendary macro lens for its razor-sharp focus.
A design that prioritizes optical performance
For top-level performance at all shooting distances, the lens features a two-group floating autofocus mechanism. This configuration reduces aberration and produces optimum results at all distances. To minimize axial chromatic aberration, the optical formula incorporates 2 FLD glass elements, 2 SLD glass elements and 1 element with a high rate of anomalous dispersion at high refractive index. In addition, 2 aspherical lenses help increase resolution at close range.
Compatible with SIGMA ELECTRONIC FLASH MACRO EM-140 DG macro flash (adapter required)
Designed exclusively for the SIGMA 70mm F2.8 DG MACRO | Art lens, the 65mm MACRO FLASH ADAPTATER makes the lens compatible with the ELECTRONIC FLASH MACRO EM-140 DG macro flash (both accessories sold separately). Thanks to the 72mm thread, a 72mm MACRO FLASH ADAPTER can also be added to accommodate macro flashes and other 72mm accessories, including macro flashes other than the EM-140 DG, as well as ring lights.
Compatible with SIGMA teleconverters
The Sigma 70MM DG MACRO lens is compatible with "SIGMA TELE CONVERTERS" (sold separately) designed for the new SIGMA lens lines. The addition of the SIGMA TELE CONVERTER TC-1401 enables it to be used as a 98mm F4 autofocus* macro medium telephoto lens, while the SIGMA TELE CONVERTER TC-2001 enables the lens to be used as a 140mm F5.6 manual focus macro medium telephoto lens.
*Autofocus available from 0.5m to infinity
