DeckLink 8K Pro is an 8-line PCIe capture and playback card designed for the new generation of high-resolution 8K workflows. It features four 12G-SDI connections and supports all SD, HD, Ultra HD, 4K, 8K and 8K DCI image formats. DeckLink 8K Pro operates in 8- and 10-bit 4:2:2 YUV, as well as 10- and 12-bit 4:4:4 RGB. What's more, thanks to its Rec.2020 support, you'll get cinematic-quality digital images! What's more, it lets you work at 60 frames per second up to 8K, and offers 64 channels of audio. As its connections are bidirectional, you can use it to capture or playback 8K quad link, as well as to capture and playback single or dual link SDI sources simultaneously.

Depending on the model chosen, DeckLink cards offer compatibility with the full range of formats used for post-production of feature films, TV shows and high-end commercials. With 12-bit RGB support and 4:4:4 image quality, you can work with color-rich, wide dynamic range images. DeckLink boards also support high frame rates up to 60 fps, stereoscopic 3D and more. All DeckLink cards feature high-quality connections, so you get flawless video and audio, and can connect to a wide range of professional SDI equipment. DeckLink 8K Pro features 12G-SDI quad link connectivity, while other models offer 6G and 12G-SDI single and dual link, or 3G-SDI single link. In addition, some DeckLink boards feature analog component, S-Video and composite connections, as well as two channels of AES/EBU audio and 4 channels of analog balanced audio input and output. All models include a black burst/tri-sync reference input and serial device control. The 6G and 12G-SDI cards feature multi-rate connections that automatically detect SD, HD and Ultra HD video formats and switch rates. As for audio, DeckLink cards work with Fairlight audio from DaVinci Resolve, ProTools, Nuendo and Cubase. For streaming, you can use Flash Media Encoder, Wirecast and Livestream Producer.

They are specially designed for editing, color grading and audio post-production on DaVinci Resolve. A well-documented free SDK makes it easy to develop specific solutions to meet your requirements. Blackmagic Design's Media Express software is also available for acquisition and playback when DeckLink is used with the Linux operating system.

Assembly and acquisition
DeckLink is compatible with the most popular editing software and provides top-quality connections that support virtually any video format, including DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro X, Media Composer and Premiere Pro. What's more, thanks to its WDM support, you can work with a wide range of Windows editing software! If your software doesn't support capture from DeckLink cards, simply use the Media Express software supplied. This software lets you capture a wide range of compressed and uncompressed video formats. DeckLink cards are also ideal for monitoring on monitors, widescreen TVs and projectors.
On-set acquisition
When working with DaVinci Resolve on set, you can use Resolve Live to perform live grading from your camera. Resolve Live lets you add nodes and make corrections live, then store them for later use during your grading session. No matter what quality camera you're using, there's a DeckLink card with the connectivity you need to connect and calibrate live. Use DeckLink cards to capture from cameras in specific, rare or custom file formats. So you can use live capture to prepare real-time media for your post-production workflow. DeckLink works in any format, and new file formats and codecs can be added as third-party plug-ins.
Visual and graphic effects
DeckLink 8K Pro is ideally suited to VFX work because it enables 4:4:4 RGB capture in full color resolution without downsampling, resulting in extremely sharp keystrokes. As DeckLink captures and reads DPX, DVI and QuickTime files, you can use your favorite VFX software such as Fusion, Nuke, After Effects and many others. DeckLink also includes a custom Photoshop plug-in that lets you export captured images and edit them in the software. When working with Photoshop and After Effects, DeckLink uses the RGB color space and avoids illegal RGB video levels, enabling precise routing of fill and key signals for external graphics and animation overlay.
Audio post-production
DeckLink is perfectly suited to the audio post-production needs of commercials, TV series and feature films. DeckLink cards integrate multiple channels of analog audio, AES/EBU digital audio and 8 or 16 channels of integrated SDI audio, depending on the model. All DeckLink drivers work with the world's most advanced audio post-production solutions, such as Fairlight audio from DaVinci Resolve, ProTools, Steinberg Nuendo and Cubase.

DeckLink cards are compatible with a wide range of server software such as Tools On Air just:in, live:cut, just:play and just:live; Softron OnTheAir, MovieRecorder, OnTheAir CG and many more! Use the inlay built into most DeckLink models as part of the playback workflow to overlay graphics on the live signal. For single-channel broadcast servers, DeckLink SDI 4K and DeckLink 8K Pro feature SDI input and output, plus a reference input. For maximum video channels per server, DeckLink Duo and DeckLink Quad 2 let you capture and play back two and eight independent SDI channels respectively. For rack-mounted servers requiring low-profile cards, DeckLink Mini models come with brackets of varying heights for installation in any PCIe slot.

Calibration
Thanks to their color accuracy, high resolution and stereoscopic 3D support, DeckLink 8K Pro and DeckLink 4K Extreme are ideal for color correction with DaVinci Resolve. You can even route video in uncompressed Ultra HD 4K resolution, giving you an impeccable workflow for high-end projects. DeckLink 4K models have been developed to go hand in hand with DaVinci Resolve color grading, and fit in well with the software's powerful features. DeckLink allows you to perform live color grading with your client on broadcast monitors or video projectors.
Live production
DeckLink works perfectly with live production mixers. Some DeckLink cards can be used to generate fill and key signals from RGB graphics and animations, or directly from Photoshop with the plug-in provided. Create titles and graphics on workstations, then send them to the mixer in real time to make your live production even more interesting. For streaming or capturing in custom video formats, DeckLink cards simply connect to the mixer's video output for live capture!
