Overview of the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 camera
By adding external controls to the camera, you can access menus to modify exposure parameters, activate slow motion/fast motion, or activate focus and other functions. The camera also features a clear 4" touchscreen display that shows important information such as timecode, shutter, lens, battery, recording status and audio levels. Thanks to the display's backlighting, information is just as visible in dimly lit studios as it is in bright sunlight. The integrated ND (Neutral Density) filter wheel is another attractive feature. The four-position wheel allows you to switch between 2/4/6 neutral density stops.
Behind the screen, two UHS-II SD card slots alongside the CFast 2.0 slots enable you to use more affordable media for less intensive recording formats. The G2 also features a USB-C port for recording directly to SSD disks. The default EF lens mount is user interchangeable. So enjoy your PL, B4 and F-mount lenses (mounts sold separately).
At the heart of the camera is Blackmagic Design's Super 35mm 4.6K sensor. The latter is renowned for its ability to capture cinematic images with subtle gradients and a wide dynamic range of 15 f-stops. The G2 can now capture Blackmagic RAW sequences in both film and extended modes, making it more versatile to meet your production needs. Perhaps the most impressive upgrade with the G2 is the ability to capture 4.6K footage at 120 fps, 4K DCI resolution at 150 fps or even 1080p images at 300 fps, which is perfect for fast-paced shooting.
