Sony's PXW-FX9K XDCAM 6K camera system is perfect for any project, from documentaries and events to reality TV and corporate productions.
The PXW-FX9K is equipped with a 6K Exmor R CMOS sensor with oversampling, enabling you to capture 4K images with cinematic depth of field. The camera's E-mount is made of stainless steel and is compatible with all E-mount lenses. A Sony E-mount 28-135mm f / 4 G OSS zoom lens is included. It covers the full-frame format and offers an aperture range from f / 4 to f / 22.
The PXW-FX9K camera's input and output functions include 12G-SDI and HDMI outputs for 4K, a 3G-SDI output for HD, as well as genlock and timecode when using a multi-camera setup. The AF hybrid autofocus system offers high precision and even automatically detects the human form with 561 detection points. Advanced image stabilization is achieved via the FX9's internal gimbal. The result is photos so smooth you'll feel as if you've used a stabilizer. Its 4-channel audio recording lets you use external microphones and simultaneously record ambient sound with the internal microphones.
The camera offers a dynamic range of 15+ stops and records in 10-bit XQD 4: 2: 2 to 2 format, supporting simultaneous and relay recording via memory card slots, as well as several backup recording modes using proxy files.
The PXW-FX9 can record in UHD (3840 x 2160) and HD (1920 x 1080) at variable frame rates from 1 fps to 60 fps in XAVC-I, XAVC-Long and MPEG HD formats. And with the next firmware update, it will be able to record in HD at 180 fps and produce in 4K / 2K in 16-bit format at up to 120 fps. It offers a double ISO of 800/4000, ideal for low-light situations or when using a slower lens. The FX9 features an integrated multi-interface (MI) shoe and is supplied with a BP-U35 battery, BC-U1A battery charger, AC adapter with two power cords, hood, viewfinder, eyepiece, remote control and USB cable. The PXW-FX9K is also compatible with the separately available XDCA-FX9 expansion unit, which provides ENG shoulder-type support, network functionality and a slot for an optional wireless audio receiver.
TheSony 28-135mm G lens supports 4K, as well as upcoming high-resolution formats, with minimal viewing angle variation and image shift. Three control rings enable manual control for demanding large-format productions, and the first SSM motor integrated into a lens designed for film promotes silent operation of the powerful zoom.
