Mavospec Base has been designed to make light very precise and easy to handle, wherever and whenever you want. All major light measurement variables, such as illuminance, correlated color temperature, color rendering index according to CIE 13.3 and IES TM-30-15, chromaticity coordinates according to the various CIE standards, flicker, spectral power distribution, peak and dominant wavelengths, are defined from the measured spectrum and indicated in a way that's easy to understand for experts and amateurs alike.
Highlights of the Mavospec Base spectrometer :
Intuitive one-handed operation - with controller ring and a few buttons
High-brightness color display - for perfect visualization in all lighting conditions and easy-to-understand direct on-screen evaluations
Excellent measured value stability - over a wide temperature range, thanks to built-in temperature sensor and automatic dark current temperature compensation
Photometric and radiometric calibration - with calibration report for perfect, plausible results
Investment security - thanks not only to top quality made in Germany and a 3-year warranty
Storage of all measured values on its built-in SD card, which are simply transferred to the PC via the USB interface
Give your light the right color Mavospec Base - light redefined
Light sets the scene for spaces and stimulates the observer's senses. Light creates tension, triggers purchasing impulses, boosts productivity, provides security or simply invites relaxation, to name but a few of the requirements that successful lighting must meet. The development of LEDs with high luminous efficacy and excellent energy efficiency has opened up entirely new perspectives in lighting planning, but at the same time, a major challenge to be met is that of the effect produced by light.
The same color day after day
Precision comes from experience, know-how and regular, perfect calibration. Gosse is a light measurement specialist with decades of experience in the field. It's not for nothing that GOSSEN has become synonymous with continuous innovation - in response to ever-changing technologies, regulations and markets. For example, the intuitive MAVOSPEC BASE is one of the most accurate and reliable spectrometers in its class. It applies the very latest technology available on the market.
Like all other precision photometric instruments, this product also requires regular maintenance, recalibration and software updates to ensure that its capabilities remain within specified limits and tolerances over the long term.
Calibrated for the most demanding requirements
For MAVOSPEC, we recommend a calibration interval of 12 to 24 months. Recalibration is carried out in the GOSSEN lighting laboratory on an approved and tested optical bench, whose connection to the national standard (traceability) of the German Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) is guaranteed by a standard lamp.
(Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) is guaranteed by a Wi41G scientific standard lamp. The laboratory is subject to monitoring of test equipment to DIN EN ISO 9001-9004, and is also accredited by the DAkkS to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. This guarantees the highest level of calibration quality and international recognition.
Key factors in lighting design
The light spectrum emitted by an LED behaves entirely differently from that of light sources used up to now. The brightness and color of LEDs vary according to the manufacturing process. Natural light, incandescent or halogen lamps have a color rendering index of 100, the highest index, and a value that LED lighting cannot currently match. What's more, there are marked variations between the different LED series, so that even when using lighting composed solely of LEDs, mixed lighting environments appear, which the light color and illuminance measurements used to date are no longer able to assess with the necessary reliability. Analyze the quality of successful lighting
When it comes to lighting design, comprehensive measurement of light quality is becoming increasingly essential. Whereas it used to be sufficient to check illuminance and luminance using conventional lighting technology, today it's also necessary to study spectrum, color location, color temperature, color rendering index and flicker.
The Mavospec Base spectrometer determines all the relevant factors of your light, so you can be sure that they all meet your requirements. This top-of-the-range, compact spectrometer analyzes your light with the utmost precision, presents the results clearly on a color display and logs the measured values - day after day and for all light sources.
