Rode's range of broadcast microphones and accessories includes the BLIMP, a windproof shell for professional shotgun microphones.
This shell enables you to take sound recordings outdoors, while greatly attenuating wind noise and other parasitic noises. Made from hard-wearing plastic, the shell is lined on the inside with a fabric film.
Highlights :
- Significantly reduces handling and wind noise
- Accommodation: most microphones up to 325mm in length
- Adjustable double hoop suspension system
- Dead Wombat" fur cap, hexagonal screwdriver and cap brush included
- Ten-year warranty
- Winner of a Red Dot 2009 and Australian International Design Award for circulating product design
Internally, the Rode BLIMP is equipped with two elastic-suspension hoops for the microphone, plus a bristle windscreen for noise reduction. A female XLR socket is cleverly included in the shell, with a cable passing through the handle which itself includes a male XLR socket at its base.
