The LaCie 8 TB 2 BIG THUNDERBOLT 3 offers 8TB of storage capacity, made up of two Seagate IronWolf Pro 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5″ industrial-grade hard drives.

While the LaCie 8 TB 2 BIG THUNDERBOLT 3 is compatible with Windows 10 and MacOS 10.12, it is formatted as HFS + for Mac, and is configured as hardware-controlled RAID 0, which provides performance gains, but no data redundancy. RAID 1 and JBOD are also supported.

The rear interface of the LaCie 8 TB 2 BIG THUNDERBOLT 3 features two 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 ports and one 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 Type C port, combined at a maximum speed of 440 MB/s. It can also be used to connect two 4K displays together, and includes up to five further Thunderbolt 3 peripheral ports.

The USB Type-C port provides 27W of power and also serves to power a laptop. The Thunderbolt 3 interface provides 15W of power for charging USB Type-C laptops. In addition, there's a DisplayPort interface supporting 720p, 1080p and 4K displays.

On the front, the LaCie 8 TB 2 BIG THUNDERBOLT 3 has an integrated USB 3.0 Type-A port, which can charge a USB device or connect a USB reader or digital camera.
The LaCie 8TB 2big Thunderbolt 3 Dock includes a Thunderbolt 3 / USB Type-C cable and an external power supply.
