Introducing RODE VideoMic
The RODE VideoMic is a lightweight, ultra-directional condenser microphone designed specifically to fit video cameras. The microphone is attached to the camera by means of a clamp on the top of most cameras.
Based on the recent "Shotgun" technology used in the film industry, VideoMic's directional curve picks up sound mainly from the scene being filmed, and rejects surrounding interference. Thanks to its elastic suspension and the streamlined shape of the microphone body, the transmission of camera handling noise is significantly reduced. The permanent windscreen effectively eliminates wind noise when recording outdoors.
Power supply
The VideoMic is designed to run on one 9V alkaline battery. The battery compartment is ideally located inside the microphone support arm. Easy battery insertion is ensured by a fully removable battery cover. The VideoMic will provide over 100 hours of continuous operation, thanks to a consumption of just 5 mA.
Output impedance
The VideoMic works perfectly up to an impedance of 1 kΩ. At lower loads, the output level will be reduced.
