Ideal for converting analog HD/SD components to SDI output, with balanced AES/EBU integration and analog audio. Now you can convert analog devices such as Betacam SP, set-top boxes, game consoles and HDV cameras to incredible SD/HD-SDI video quality.
Blackmagic OpenGear Converters are fully compatible with the OpenGear standard. Blackmagic OpenGear Converters are compatible with the 20-card models of OpenGear systems that occupy 2 racks. Many manufacturers are developing OpenGear cards and systems that can be used in different combinations. OpenGear boards are hot-swappable and can be controlled by Java-based Dashboard network monitoring and control software available for Windows™, Mac OS X™ and Linux™.
Superior quality
Blackmagic's OpenGear Converters meet the most stringent quality standards with low SDI signal instability. This enables you to route analog video and audio signals over the longest SDI cables at very low noise levels, for a true broadcast-quality solution.
New 3 Gbit/s SDI technology
Thanks to the latest 3 Gbit/s SDI technology integrated into Blackmagic OpenGear Converters, new standards can be downloaded via the USB port. 3 Gbit/s SDI is also fully compatible with all your SDI and HD equipment.
Automatic conversion between SD and HD
Blackmagic's OpenGear Converters let you switch immediately between all SD and HD video formats. They support a wide range of standards, and new formats can be added via USB.
Redundant SDI input
Blackmagic OpenGear Converters SDI to Analog and SDI to Audio feature an exclusive redundant SDI input for critical tasks or live events. Connect a redundant cable to the second input and, if you lose the main SDI input, Blackmagic OpenGear Converters automatically switch to the second in an instant. An SDI loop-through output is also provided for connection to other devices. You can also connect to other Blackmagic OpenGear Converters if you need to extract more audio channels.
Integrated AES/EBU or analog audio
Blackmagic's OpenGear Converters feature 24-bit analog audio input and 24-bit digital audio input. You can choose between analog/digital AES/EBU audio output via mini-switches or remotely via Dashboard network control software. Blackmagic OpenGear Converters then switch to use either analog or AES/EBU digital output. Blackmagic OpenGear Converters support standard 2-channel and 4-channel audio backplanes, so they can be used with other OpenGear products.
