With Memory Mic, you can capture incredible broadcast-quality sound, the perfect complement to your video.
The Memory Mic connects first via Bluetooth, so you don't have to worry about being out of range. The microphone continues to record at any distance from your smartphone. The Sennheiser Memory Mic records up to 4 hours of sound, which will automatically synchronize with your smartphone video using the Sennheiser Memory Mic app, downloadable from the App Store or Google Play.
The Memory Mic takes the form of a reinforced case with a magnetic clip on the back for easy installation, and a pre-polarized omnidirectional electrostatic microphone. Advertised as having a frequency response of between 100 Hz and 20 kHz and a maximum sensitivity of 119 dB at 1 kHz, it is associated with a Bluetooth module for wireless transmission with the smartphone, but Sennheiser indicates that the connection is not necessary for the duration of the recording. Recording should continue even when both devices are out of range.
A mobile application of the same name, to be found on Android (5.1 and above) and iOS (10.2 and above), will also enable sound and images to be synchronized with a single click if required. The sensitivity of the Memory Mic can also be adjusted, as can the level of ambient noise for which the smartphone's microphones are used. Finally, note that the accessory, with its 360 mAh rechargeable battery, is claimed to have an autonomy of 4 hours, and measures 51 x 37 x 16 mm, weighing in at around 30 grams.
