A world of solutions: Two independent 3G/HD/SD video synchronizers with Up/Down/Cross conversion, combined with 16-channel audio processing
The FS2 can simultaneously process two independent channels in 3G/HD/SD including 10-bit broadcast quality, and two groups of 16 independent channels in AES audio.
Each FS2 channel accepts virtually any type of input and output, from analog component/composite to digital, 3G/HD/SD-SDI, Dual-Link and even HDMI.
The FS2 can be used as two independent Frame Synchronizers/Format Converters, or in a more complex way, combining channels to get the full power.
For example, you can Up-convert the video and a graphic with alpha channel to link them together.
Each channel has its own still store, keyer and proc/amp color processing.
The FS2 can UP and DOWN convert between SD & HD and cross-convert between HD formats, including 3G 1080p50/60 formats. C
ach input and output port can be assigned to any of the two channels.
In audio, the FS2 has two processors, each capable of handling 16-channel digital AES/EBU, 16-channel embedded audio and 8-channel analog, all with multiple controls for maximum flexibility.
The FS2 supports closed captioning associated with SD & HD format conversion, including the CEA-608 & CEA-708 captioning standards. The FS2 can be networked, with SNMP monitoring and full control via Internet interfaces. A third-party remote control is also available.
FS2 options include Dolby® E encoders and decoders, plus fiber optic inputs/outputs for 3G/HD/SD signals.
The FS2 is compatible with all video formats, making it easy to unify disparate audio and video signals, all in the same machine.
The FS2 is ideally positioned to meet the technical needs of broadcast studios, car-regions and all those who work in today's changing environment.
Use
The FS2 can be used in all audio and video conversion, timing adaptation and processing situations:
- Up/Down/Cross conversions of SD & HD signals, including 1080p50/60 formats.
- Synchronization of video images in general.
- Analog-to-Digital & Digital-to-Analog audio and video conversions.
- Mux and/or Demux a 3G-SDI into two separate HD signals
- 3G/HD/SD video conversion from BNC to Fiber & vice versa.
- Use of internal video processor to adjust color correction .
- Timing synchronization between key and fill signals by inserting their streams into separate FS2 channels for independent adjustment and keying internally or via an external keyer.
- Use of the HDMI input with a DVI-to-HDMI cable to "scan-convert" today's computer graphics signals into SD or HD video formats, while benefiting from proc-amp colorimetric functions and aspect adjustments (4:3 & 16:9). Feature to come.
- Internal HD keying from SD video signals and SD graphics (analog or digital), with up-conversion of both and final combination.
- Optional Dolby® E encoding and decoding with full channel mapping.
Multiple controls
- Rack front panel control with alphanumeric and graphic menu scrolling
- Quick change of assignment and settings via keys and rotary knobs
- At-a-glance status monitoring via front panel LED display
- Full control over 10/100/1000 Ethernet network via internal web server and remote Internet interface
- 4x TTL GPI inputs and outputs
- Optional control keyboard
Inputs - Outputs & extraordinary format compatibility
The FS2 can generally convert any input format into any output format, provided that the scroll speeds are of the same family (the three families are 59.94/29.97/23.98, 50/25 & 60/30/24). When an input/output format is not compatible, the operator is warned (alarm/status messages). Source and destination connections are controlled by a matrix of input and output selections on both channels. This routing selection is made from the front panel or via an Internet browser interface.
