The AV-HS6000 is a 2ME HS series model that uses a newly designed, easy-to-use GUI control panel to support precise switching. Even with its compact 3U size, the main unit is equipped with an abundance of inputs and outputs for excellent system integration, including 32 SDI and 2 DVI inputs plus 16 SDI outputs.
To top it all off, 4 DVEs per ME allow different transitions when producing creative videos in fast-paced, demanding situations.
It features 16 output channels, with each output channel mirrored on two SDI outputs. Not only can these outputs be used for a single stream, program or aux. It is also possible to combine up to 16 ISO channels and send them to a display using the MultiView function. Additional display layouts are also possible, including a "compression mode" that reduces image size to accommodate audio levels and other data around the outside. A total of 4 channels can be used in conjunction with the MultiView function.
The system features two mix and effects buses (M / E) with fades, transitions and other effects. In addition, the switcher features upstream and downstream keyers (USK and DSK) for filling black space, inserting logos and graphics, and compositing. Frequently used effects, settings, video clips and still images can be saved in internal memory for later recall during production.
The AV-HS60U1P is designed to work with the AV-HS60C1P / AV-HS60C1E or RAV-HS60C2P / AV-HS60C2E control panel. In addition, software plug-ins enable operation over an IP network, or with certain third-party Panasonic and RS-422 serial peripherals. In addition, the AV-HS60C3G menu panel is required to access and modify settings locally on the switcher.
The mixer can be connected to a web server, allowing users to select menu settings via a LAN connection," explains Stefan Hofmann, Panasonic's Director of Business Development. "Panasonic's Software Development Kit (SDK) ensures that the AV-HS6000 can easily be extended with new features: third-party suppliers and professional SI users can add new functionality with self-developed plug-in software.
The AV-HS6000 supports HD and SD-i format signals and 59.94 Hz, 50 Hz and 24 Hz (or 23.98 Hz) as system frequency. The AV-HS6000 guarantees efficient operation and can be used worldwide for digital cinema film production.
