Sony PDW-HD1550 highlights
- High-definition XAVC recordings
The PDW-HD1550 delivers high-definition XAVC Intra 422 recordings at 1920 x 1080 resolution and a range of bitrates, including 59.94i, 50i, 29.97p, 23.98p and 25p.
- Multi-format recording and playback functions
The PDW-HD1550 comes with extremely flexible multi-format recording and playback functions as standard. In addition to XAVC, users can choose between HD (MPEG HD422 at 50 Mbps and MPEG HD420 at 35 Mbps and 25 Mbps) and SD (MPEG IMX50/30 and DVCAM) recording and playback formats, in a variety of frame rates.
- SxS and Professional Disc gateway solution
For SxS card users, the PDW-HD1550 is equipped with a USB interface that supports a bridge solution between SxS and Professional Disc. Support for USB storage using an external USB hard disk and support for SxS memory card using an external SBAC-US20 card reader.
- Three- and four-layer Professional Disc support
The recorder supports the latest Professional Disc media, including four-layer PFD-128QLW, three-layer PFD-100TLA, double-layer PFD-50DLA and single-layer PFD-23A models.
- Smooth Jog/Shuttle wheel operation
The PDW-HD1550 features a Jog/Shuttle wheel and RS-422 function for VTR-like operation (Jog : -1 to +1 times normal speed, Variable: -2 to +2 times normal speed, Shuttle: -20 to +20 times normal speed). The proxy data created can enable seamless frame-by-frame transitions, even in XAVC format, equivalent to HD422 quality, and allow the user not to miss any recorded frames when checking recorded clips.
* XAVC format at -1 to +2 times normal speed.
- 8 digital audio channels
Recording of uncompressed 24-bit PCM audio at 48 kHz enables 8-channel audio recording for high-quality sound.
- SD up-conversion function
This unit features a standard up-conversion function, allowing SD signals to be input to the SD/HD-SDI input connector for HD recording. This recorder can also transmit HD signals while playing back SD content, enabling it to be used in an HD environment.
- HD down-conversion function
This unit is equipped with a down-conversion function. Playback signals in HD format can be down-converted to SD signals and then transmitted as SD-SDI or composite signals. This allows you to use non-linear SD editing solutions and monitors for editing and program output.
- 1080/720 cross-conversion
This device supports output cross-conversion. It can output 720 recordings during 1080 playback, and output 1080 recordings during 720 playback.
- HD-SDI remote recording
HD-SDI connections can be made to camcorders with remote HD-SDI support.
- Proxy video data recording
Proxy video data are low-resolution MPEG-4 files (1.5 Mbps video, 64 kbps per audio channel) corresponding to a high-resolution data stream. Whenever this device records high-resolution XAVC or MPEG HD 422 data, it simultaneously generates and records low-resolution Proxy video data. Thanks to their compact format, Proxy video data can be transferred rapidly over computer networks, easily set up in the field with portable computers, and widely used in a wide variety of applications such as content management on modest-sized servers.
- Color LCD display and tilting front panel
This unit features a 4.3", 16:9 color LCD screen that lets you check disc content and use the menu without connecting an external monitor. This compact recorder also features a tilting front panel.
- Extensive interface support
Supports the following interfaces: HD-SDI video, 8-channel audio input and output, SD-SDI video, 8-channel audio input and output (SD/HD-SDI input connector also acts as SD-SDI input connector), SD composite output, 4-channel AES/EBU digital audio input and output, 2-channel analog audio input and output, remote RS-422A (D-sub 9-pin x1) and remote video (D-sub 9-pin x1), and HDMI output.
- Equipped with network connector
This unit is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet connector as standard. Using this connector, you can connect the unit to computers and networks, enabling video, audio and metadata files recorded on Professional Discs to be referenced, as well as fast file transfer.
